Addressing the challenges faced by firefighters

   -   September 10, 2024

Crosscall will be present from September 25 to 28, 2024, at the 130th National Congress of Firefighters. For the French brand, which already equips many fire and rescue services (SDIS) across France, this is an opportunity to share its expertise in safety to serve the population while highlighting the performance of its product range. We spoke with Denis Thayanithy, Chief Commercial Officer of Crosscall.

The Budgetary Advantage of Products Less Prone to Breakage

How do Crosscall products meet the operational needs of fire and rescue services in France, and more broadly, those of civil security actors?

"Today, professionals in this sector want products that are both affordable and durable under extreme conditions of use. This is exactly what we offer with robust smartphones and tablets that are resistant to shocks, drops, and liquids. Reliability is at the core of Crosscall’s DNA. It’s the cornerstone of our brand’s success, as demonstrated by our five-year warranty, which also covers the battery. This means that by choosing Crosscall equipment, a fire and rescue service can optimize its budget with equipment that lasts longer, is less prone to breakage, and more generally, less vulnerable to the risks encountered in daily operations on any terrain. Over time, this can quickly amount to savings of thousands of euros."

Beyond Robustness: Crosscall's Customer-Centered Approach

What makes Crosscall’s approach particularly appreciated, beyond the central focus on product durability?

"We never forget that behind each of our devices are men and women whose job is to save lives. This represents a real responsibility for the Crosscall teams. That’s why we invest time in building human relationships. It allows us to forge close ties, which are essential to providing solutions tailored to the specific needs of a fire and rescue service. This is the real advantage of choosing a French brand with a solid network throughout the country. In this strategic sector of civil security, we aim to develop long-term partnerships. And everything generally starts with a meeting. Thanks to this commitment on the ground, we now collaborate with many fire and rescue services across France. Crosscall also participates in major projects, such as the Fenics project, working closely with SDIS 73, SDMIS, SDIS 74 and SDIS 13."

Replacing Up to 5 Existing Devices

How does Crosscall address the challenge of cost optimization through equipment rationalization?

"There are two ways to approach this challenge. The first is to drastically reduce the number of new devices or slow the replacement cycle of those already in use. For Crosscall, the solution comes from studying usage to continuously optimize the available equipment. We create increasingly versatile products. For example, a Crosscall phone can replace up to five existing devices. It can, for instance, substitute a walkie-talkie, a barcode scanner, or even a computer when connected to a screen. The same approach applies to Crosscall tablets. Our teams have collaborated with a fire and rescue service to implement a solution for collecting cardiovascular data during the medical care of victims. Thanks to this, professionals can share a full report with their colleagues from the SAMU, for instance. We are thus addressing a real challenge of interoperability while contributing to operational cost optimization. Another concrete example is our CORE-T5 tablet, which is used as a training tool."
